Mayo face Leitrim, tonight, in the Quarter Final of the EirGrid Connacht GAA U21 Football Championship 2015 in Elvery’s MacHale Park at 7.30pm.
The last time the two teams met was in 2010 when Mayo defeated Leitrim on a score-line of 0-13 to 0-9 and Mayo, who are managed by Niall Heffernan will be looking for a similar result this time. They will look to senior players, Stephen Coen, Patrick Durcan, Diarmuid O’ Connor and Captain Adam Gallagher on the night to help them through to a provincial semi-final.
Leitrim Team manager Shane Warde, is combining is duties by managing the county’s Senior and U21 sides. The U21 team had a good run through the Hastings cup eventually losing out in the semi-final of the competition. They will look to Donal Wrynn, who captured a Sigerson Cup medal in February and captain James Rooney to lead them to victory in MacHale Park.
The winners of this game will play Galway on Saturday 21st March.
