CONNACHT COUNTIES STILL IN THE HUNT

With all the Provincial Championships now done and dusted, here is a run down of all the Connacht counties at all age groups who are still alive in the Championship.

SENIOR FOOTBALL

Roscommon as Connacht Champions await in the Quarter Finals for the winners of the Qualifiers. Their game will be played on Sunday the 30th of July in a double header with Kerry’s Quarter Final. Mayo and Galway are in Round 4A of the Qualifiers and will play this Saturday bidding to join Roscommon in the Quarter Finals where if they win they will be playing one of the Provincial Champions.

Mayo v Cork 5pm, Saturday 22nd July, Gaelic Grounds Limerick

Galway v Donegal 7pm, Saturday 22nd July, Markievicz Park, Sligo

MINOR FOOTBALL

Connacht Champions Galway play against the runners up in Ulster, Cavan. Sligo play Ulster Champions Derry. These games will take place on Saturday the 5th August with venues and times yet to be confirmed.

U17 FOOTBALL

Roscommon will face Kerry in the All Ireland Semi Final at this grade. The date and venue have yet to be decided for this fixture.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL

Connacht Champions Leitrim face Munster and All Ireland Champions Kerry before the two Round 4A Qualifier game in Limerick this Saturday. The All Ireland Final will take place on the 5th of August against either Kilkenny or Meath.

Leitrim v Kerry 3pm, Saturday 22nd July, Gaelic Grounds Limerick

SENIOR HURLING

Galway having won the Leinster Championship are automatically through to the All Ireland Semi Final, where they await the winners of the Quarter Final. This semi final will take place on Sunday the 6th August.

U21 HURLING

Sligo face Donegal in the Final of the All Ireland U21C Championship this Saturday the 22nd of July. The winners of this game will go on to play Kerry in the Quarter Finals of the All Ireland U21B Championship on Saturday the 12th of August. Mayo face Meath in this competition on this day also.

MINOR HURLING

Galway travel to Páirc Uí Chaoimh to play Clare in the All Ireland Minor hurling Quarter Final this Saturday the 22nd July at 1pm. The winners of this game will play in the All Ireland Semi Final on Sunday August 6th against one of the Provincial Winners.
