Roscommon 3-14 Galway 3-11

Roscommon collected their second successive Connacht GAA U21 Football Championship in a three point win over Galway in Tuam Stadium. This game was a classic, with all that is great about the game of football. President of Connacht GAA, before presenting the trophy to the winning joint captains Cathal Compton and Tadhg O’ Rourke, had said that after football had been declared dead last weekend, it had an early resurrection this weekend. The game had six goals, magnificent point taking by both sides, and a result in doubt right up to the end before a crowd of 4796.
