Connacht GAA Senior Club Football- Leo Kenny Memorial Cup Final

Mountbellew Moylough 2-13 Corofin 1-12

Tuam Stadium

Mountbellew/Moylough captured the Connacht GAA Senior Club Football- Leo Kenny Memorial Cup 2015 with a four point win over All-Ireland Club Champions Corofin this evening in Tuam Stadium. This game was played on a perfect evening for football as both teams served up an entertaining, tough fought game encounter.

The first half was a cagey affair with both teams trading scores throughout and Paul Donnellan’s goal in that opening half proved to be a decisive score with Mountbellew/Moylough leading at half time on a score of 1-7 to Corofin’s 0-6.

Early in the second half both teams registered goals through Barry McHugh for Mountbellew/Moylough with Corofin’s coming from corner forward Jason Leonard. Try as they might Corofin could not breach that four point gap as Mountbellew kept the scoreboard ticking with some fine scores especially one long range effort from midfielder Joe Bergin. Mountbellew were happy to sit back at the end and soak up Corofin pressure and hit on the counter, making the most of their efforts when they attacked.
